Yshai Oliel (ISR) defeated Patrick Sydow (ABW) 6-3 6-1 to claim his first Orange Bowl title.
This is the first time in history an Israeli wins this category of the prestigious event held every year in Florida, USA. In 2001, Shahar Peer won the event in the Girls '14 category.
With this incredible achievement, Oliel joins the ranks of past and present tennis greats such as Jimmy Connors and Andy Murray.

Oliel said After the match that "I'm very happy and very excited. It's hard for me to take in the magnitude of this achievement. This is only the beginning for me".
Oliel's coach, Jan Pochter added that "I'm very happy about this achievement, Yshai did great and I'm proud of him. This is the result of a long process we've started 8 years ago. We're very excited and we're hoping for many more achievements down the road".
Israel's prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu called to congratulate Oliel and told him “You are a true champion. You brought honor to the State of Israel and pride to your parents”.
